As of December 22, 2025, ROBU Glasfilter-Geräte GmbH will operate under the new legal name STEREON Glassfilters GmbH as part of a group-wide rebranding. Our former parent company, QSIL SE, will simultaneously appear under the new umbrella brand STEREON Materials.

With STEREON Materials, the group has acquired a brand that clearly conveys that profile and makes it internationally compatible. The changeover will take place in several steps and will include:

  • STEREON Materials SE (formerly QSIL SE)
  • STEREON Ceramics Auma GmbH (formerly QSIL Ceramics GmbH)
  • STEREON Ceramics Frankenblick GmbH (formerly QSIL Ingenieurkeramik GmbH)
  • STEREON Metals Hermsdorf GmbH (formerly QSIL Metals Hermsdorf GmbH)
  • STEREON Metals Calne Ltd. (UK) (formerly QSIL Metals Calne Ltd.)
  • STEREON Glassfilters Ltd. (formerly ROBU Glasfilter-Geräte Ltd.)

The new name STEREON Glassfilters reflects our stronger integration into an internationally positioned materials group and supports a clearer, unified external presence across the group. At the same time, the company  you  have  known  and  trusted  as  ROBU  for  many years remains unchanged in its technical expertise, manufacturing depth, and reliability. For you as our business partner, the following points explicitly remain unchanged:

  • Existing contracts, terms, and agreements remain fully valid
  • Our bank details remain unchanged
  • Address, telephone numbers, and know-how remain unchanged
  • Products, specifications, manufacturing processes, quality, and workflows remain unchanged
  • ROBU will continue to be used as a brand name

New Managing Director at STEREON

Effective February 1, 2025, Benjamin Schmidt will assume the role of Managing Director at STEREON Glassfilters GmbH (formerly ROBU® Glasfilter-Geräte GmbH).

Benjamin Schmidt studied Materials Engineering Glass & Ceramics at the University of Applied Sciences Koblenz. After completing his studies, he initially worked in development before taking on roles as a project engineer in various companies within the glass and ceramics industry. Before moving to ROBU in Hattert, Mr. Schmidt was most recently Technical Manager in the flat glass market segment.

We sincerely thank Mr. Curland for his tireless commitment, his extensive expertise, and his many valuable contributions to ROBU's development over the years. Quarz Glassfilters

ROBU Sintered filters made of pure quartz glass

As the leading manufacturer of ROBU sintered filters, we are expanding our product range with quartz glass filters. From now on you can order standard quartz glass filter discs here. Special designs and intermediate sizes are available on request.

Quartz glass is one of the most demanding of all glasses for use in technical applications. The single-component glass consists of pure, amorphous silicon dioxide (SiO2). Due to its exceptionally high resistance to heat, low thermal expansion and excellent thermal shock resistance, quartz glass is used wherever other glass materials reach their limits.

Slit Sieve Funnels

Slit Sieve Funnel (Buchner Funnel) for membrane- or paperfilter

Our VitraPOR Buchner funnel made of pure borosilicate glass 3.3 with the renown properties like chemical and high temperature change resistance.

A special type of our funnel is equipped with a sieve plate. Contrary to the classical filter funnel with a sintered VitraPOR glass filter disc, it is fitted with a glass disc with approx. 1,8 mm wide slits. This disc is designed for very coarse filtration processes or to support round membranes or paper filters which facilitates to take out the filtrate and to clean the funnel.

The sieve plate is produced by us in a novel manufacturing process allowing special geometries, slit or bore patterns and sizes when required.

See here our available standard sizes.
